The Best Valentine's Day Ever

I just wanted to recap this past Valentine's Day for my own personal record. It was the best one yet. Perhaps that is because the only men I had encountered or attracted up to that point were complete TOOLS. Yes, that is correct, TOOLS. In my life, I have been blessed with some of the best friends a girl could have. We have all been divorced within the last 2 years. (Definitely nothing any of us are proud of, but a fact at any rate.) So, we have really stuck together. (We have been friends since Junior High, there is a lot of history here.) We all decided to pack up our kids and take them out as our Valentines this year. From Kacey announcing she needed to poop to Carter telling a man he needed a haircut and CC and Adds beating each other over the head, I would dare say this one cannot be topped. The best part is, we all went and stuffed our faces at TGI Fridays and went home, scratched our butts, put sweats on and didn't even have to put out. (: Thank you for the great friendship Kelcie, Milly and Lacey!

Love To The Mommies

I love all of the mother figures in my life. I am so thankful for everything that they do for Carter and me. We are so blessed. Hats off to all of the other mothers out there working their butts off and doing what needs to be done. It is hard work!

Sweet Talkin'

So, last night I was chatting away with the significant other and we started talking about things that make you cave. You know, when someone asks you to do something and you really don't want to and then they play "the card" to get you to cave. Some like presents, some like to trade services and some like to be persuaded. I am a complete sucker for the sweet talker. Holy cow. It is not good. Here is his first run at  his "Sweet talking."

Me: Say 5 nice things and I will do it for you.
Shane: I love love love you sweetheart.
Me: Better....
Shane: What? I thought that was great
Me: I am giving you the answers here.
Shane: Babe hun sweetheart sunshine beautiful sexy girlfriend of mine I love you so much. :)
Me: Shi.....

It reminds me of a child that learns how to manipulate their parents at the early age of a few months old. I thought I had him wrapped around my finger. Turns out, it could potentially be the other way around. (And yes, for those of you that don't know the "Real" Shane and Kelsie story, he did and does make a ton of effort. Don't be fooled.)

Happy _ _th Birthday, Rand!

Today is my step-dad's _ _th birthday. Yes, I actually know how old he is. I just feel as though he may not appreciate me casting it out there for the entire world to read. (Ok, I am not that cool, but this blog is accessible to the entire planet. Gotta be careful!)

So, happy _ _th birthday, Rand. Carter and I love you so much. Over the past year, you have been nothing but an advocate for the happiness and well-being of Carter and me. To me, that is bigger than anything and more amazing than most. You are such a sweet, loving grandpa to my most prized possession and I am eternally grateful. You are hands down the best step-dad EVER and I feel so lucky to have you in my life. May this year feel like you are 29 again...same as the last few birthdays you've had. We love you!

Confession To The Padre'

"Oh really. Well, I told my dad that we are dating. Aren't you proud?"

Sure am, but I think we took care of that already.....(:

Remember what he said, "Take it slow and Enjoy."

Gotta love the distance. It gives us no choice, but to take it slow, For slow and steady wins the race.

It's an Idaho Thing (Apparently)

Took a little trippy trip to Idaho again. Dani, my favorite passenger, rode up with me. Friday night we hung and went "Downtown." (For those that have never been to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, downtown consists of a few tiny diners, 2 bars, the "Hot Baths" and a supermarket.) I absolutely love it.

Saturday, we went to Idaho Falls. Yep, I was an Idaho Falls virgin. There are some stores and stuff there. I went to Sportsman's warehouse. These men are worse than any woman I have ever met. How in the freaking hell can we spend that much time in a warehouse of men? And it smells like men in there. Imagine my delight. Thankfully, I had some great company.  I had been begging Shane for 2 days to take me to the Bodies Exhibit. He swore he wouldn't be going. Swore. I mean, I thought I would never convince him. (And he is one of the most stubborn people I know.) Hmm... See pictures below..Told you I am lucky. He did really well with it and seems to be coping appropriately. ;)

Bodies Exhibit

I had been saying I wanted to learn how to shoot a gun. I have only shot a little gun, one time. We all loaded up and went shooting. Ok, loaded up means we got in Shane's Razor and went across the street. It's the country up there, that is perfectly acceptable. I did it. I learned how to shoot a shotgun. Thank you for teaching me, people. Shane, Thank you for actually thinking it would knock me over. Rememeber who you are dealing with here. It was a blast! Next time I am going to learn how to actually aim the thing.

These boys look so funny plugging their ears.

Cute Kayla shooting that big gun

Shane made it look like the gun weighed nothing

I met Shane's mom this weekend, too. Good times. :) I love Idaho, and I love the people there.
